Disclaimer: I do not own Torchwood. I do not make money off of Torchwood. In fact, it seems as though Torchwood owns and makes money off of ME. This is for entertainment purposes only.

Author’s Note: I haven't written anything new in a while. So I sat down to write a songfic just to...keep moving, I guess. I got two lines in when this happened instead. So, uh. Yeah. I'm still not sure how I feel about it. But, here. Have some angst. It's short, so you shouldn't suffer too much!

So, I was driving back from the gas station a few minutes ago, navigating around snow drifts and trying to stay within the little ruts left by other people's tires. The mixture of snow and freezing rain and wind that made my car shudder was difficult to see through. I was driving cautiously, of course, and there were few cars out on the road. Still, the plows haven't made a pass in hours and the roads are a bizarre combination of snow slush ice sand that my car particularly dislikes.

It's beautiful out right now; the wind is blowing glittery snow around while the freezing rain chimes and chinks against the glass of my window. I love how the snow reflects the street lights against the sky and it glows a warm orange. And just the pure rawness of the bitter cold, the wind beating the landscape into submission...it's wonderful. It's like everything is wiped clean, erased, and then reborn. It's sacred and real and forceful.

But that's not the point. The point is that I'm absolutely a slave to my addictions. It was as I was turning into my driveway, when I glanced down at my bag filled with caffeinated beverages, packs of cigarettes, and chocolate, that I realized I may have a serious problem with minor stimulants.

But part of it (a very substantial part of it, in fact) was that I just felt like going for a drive and conquering my domain. Domain is now sufficiently conquered and I have my stimulants and all is well with the world. And an even bigger part of it is that, in the movies, one always meets their one true love while buying stupid things at the gas station in the middle of a storm late at night. I even dressed the part. Unfortunately, that didn't happen this time. But at least I got some practice in. I'm thinking of the experience as a dress rehearsal.

Plus, my car is cleaned off for the morning commute. :)
