Showtime is making a show about The Borgias!

I <3 Lucrezia. I <3 Lucrezia SO MUCH. They better make her as wicked and brilliant and deadly as possible! Oh, and also as used. Poor thing. AHHHH! And Cesare. I have such a historical crush on Cesare. 

First The Tudors and now this. I love Showtime, just a little lot.

AND. Jeremy Irons!

Trevor Morris is doing the soundtrack, too, I think. <3 <3 <3

This is the first show coming out this year I'm actually excited about which makes me nervous. But anything with Jeremy Irons in it can never be all bad.

I completely agree re: Jeremy Irons! And I wonder if they're going to play up the incestuous dynamic that has been rumored. Or the poisoning. Or any of that. Could be very, very interesting.

And I feel the same way about the new shows. I just wish I got Showtime - I have to wait for the DVDs to come out like I did with The Tudors. :-/

It's got Neil Jordan at the helm and the cast looks great so there's more reason to be positive than negative. It's Showtime so they'll definitely be playing up the sex and violence. I can't imagine they'll be able to resist the incest angle.
