WIP Meme

Stolen, with the best intentions, from [livejournal.com profile] xrai_namere.

Post a single sentence from each WIP you have (or as many as you want to pick). No context, no explanations. No more than one sentence!

1) The harsh wind abrades Jack’s skin with sharp pricks of sand that get in his mouth and eyes, even with his shemagh pulled carefully around his face.

2) Public displays of much of anything weren’t usually his thing.

3) That the overabundance of rocking chairs made maneuvering around his flat difficult was an understatement.

4) Ianto removed his coat as he walked into the Hub, shaking off the cold and the light dusting of snow on his shoulders and hair.

5) His heart hammers in his chest as the words shift and sway around his head, floating like dandelion seeds on the wind.

6) It was far too quiet.

7) If Ianto didn't work for Torchwood, the giant waddling bouquet of roses might not have startled him so.

8) “Ianto Jones, born August 19th 1983."

9) Rhys Williams is an ordinary man, not a dashing hero posing atop high, windswept towers.

10) When he was younger and naively confidant, he had brushed off his sexual promiscuity (for his prowess still garnered that label even in the advanced 51st century) with a shrug.

11) The snow cloaked his car completely; from his window, it looked like a lumpy hillock amidst a rolling landscape of white.

12) “You’ve been set up nicely,” Jack mused suspiciously as he watched Ianto poke at the fire.

13) The tips of Jack’s fingers are still burnt with hot salt and oil from the chips he had shared with Ianto.

14) Ianto looked at Tosh and raised his eyebrow.

15) It had been ages since Ianto had actually read a book; sometime before work at Torchwood One had gotten particularly busy, before he’d met Lisa and began to devote all of his free time to her.

16) It is 1854; in exactly fifteen years, a man choosing to be called Jack Harkness will descend from the stars through a rift in time and space approximately one hundred and eighty eight miles away in Cardiff, Wales.

Will any of these ever be completed? Probably not. Oh well. :) Enjoy your sentences?
