It's bloody raining again today. I can't imagine how bad it is up north. It's wet enough down here and we aren't in danger of flooding, but really? Is it necessary to break the drought so completely? Talk about overdoing it!
My daughter made the most bone-headed comment yesterday, saying that if it rained anymore, we'd be able to swim to the US. I wasn't sure whether to fall on the ground in total hysterics or just look at her with my mouth hanging open. I opted for hysterics. When I could finally manage words, I asked her if she'd ever heard of a little body of water called the Pacific, covered half the world, started about 4km's down the street (technically that Bass Strait, but you can get to the Pacific from there through the Tasman Sea) and extended all the way to the US? She replied with her usual "Oh hush you, don't speak!" At that point, I couldn't really, I was choking.
I know she isn't blonde anymore, not even under the black hair dye, but she could give a few stereotypes a run for their money some days!
