Congrats - enjoy for me! I wouldn't trust any of the fish & chips served here in LV as far as I could throw them, LOL. Never eat fish when it has to be flown in (I'll be following that advice in Uzbekistan as well).

Jeez I miss Melbourne :(

And as a Kiwi, that is a statement I never, ever thought I would say.

Ahh, yeah, flown-in fish? Not so good. I'm on the coast here, so I'm hoping it's actually...you know...caught. I bought it from a fish market, so I'm guessing so! :)

I would bloody hope it's fresh, seeing as you're right by the coast! The fish here actually isn't that bad, but the fish and chips was never good, it just doesn't taste like it's supposed to.

We had a fantastic fish and chippers in Melbourne that did the most awesome flake (that's what they call the local gummy shark), although I didn't eat it that often. I chose calamari, which was fantastic and savaloys (a type of sausage). The rest of the family ate the fish. I prefer my fish smoked and in white sauce!
