I Wonder...

Hey all!

I wanted to know your thoughts on Miracle Day. Well, on what's behind it, actually. Cracky and zany are acceptable, even if they don't fit with "canon" (what has happened in the past, or hints of what's to come). They can even be logical, too (*gasp!*), although I bet you $773,976,761.97 that your logical hypotheses will be jossed. ;)

Here are some to start off:

1. Rhys found a way to do this so that his family would be safe. Ah, noble intentions.
2. It's part of the fallback plan of that Sleeper Cell. They've been too quiet.
3. God got really pissed at everyone's explanations of death being only darkness; this is retribution. Build your arks, people. Your...death arks.
4. The Weevils want a new king, but they like the idea of elections, so they gave everyone Undead!Owen powers and will pick the best one.
5. Jack found a way to make himself mortal. YAY FOR JACK. But...oops?
6. When Owen went into meltdown, it spread his condition and it has finally infiltrated the drinking water. At once.
7. Suzie. Apparently, when you use a resurrection gauntlet in the afterlife, it makes EVERYONE not die. Except Jack. Suzie's laugh sounds like this: "Muahahahahahahaha!"
8. This isn't really Earth. This IS the Afterlife. Or Limbo. Jack just came back to the wrong place immediately after Earth exploded suddenly from some alien attack. But everyone is just going about normal business, because they don't know they're already dead.

My money's on Suzie. Something she did is taking Jack's immortality and spreading it around, and she's doing it partly to punish Jack. And she'll offer to bring Ianto back if he helps her out.

I'd laugh if they went with that whilst also spouting the "dead is dead" line.

When was THAT ever true? Owen, Suzie ...

Number 8 sounds like lost

Does it? I stopped watching after the fourth season. Possibly because my brain exploded slightly. ;) lol

[identity profile] jolinarjackson.livejournal.com 2011-07-10 02:18 pm (UTC)(link)
I think it does. Even though I really didn't get the end of LOST. :)

LOL.

Umm... With Jane Espenson on the writing team... Ethan Rayne from Sunnydale in a crossover of EPIC PROPORTIONS has INVOKED THE GODS OF CHAOS FOR SOME FUN TIEMS!

I am a little bit nuts.

Okay, full disclosure?

I stopped watching Buffy partway through Season 4 and just watched all of Angel. I just Wikipedia'd the hell out of him. And I remember him vaguely (not enough to remember a face, though, apparently - where was he in the MD ep?!)

It's okay to be nuts! I am too! We're...all a bit crazy, here! :D

Angel had Wesley... then Fred... So I can dig that.

LoL. Robin Sachs played the British Professor on the news channel when Rex was watching in the hospital, right before the crazy nurse going on about Zombie freaks and corpses.

It was a total "Blink and you'll miss him." part, but I was so shocked because I knew that face, I paused it and rewound it (Hooray for live pause!). Thereby solidifying my place in the OMG YOU ARE FREAKIN' CRAZY FAN-GIRL hall of fame. ;)

It's a glitch in the Matrix. They thought that they had finally fixed the problem with Jack, but it just spread everywhere else instead.

Which also sounds a little bit like #8. And probably doesn't even make sense. =)

Ok, my (shockingly sensible) theory, is that Jack is still immortal etc, but has been affected by the miracle day thing, so he is now immortal like everyone else is - he can't die, but he can get hurt and stay hurt, for as long as a normal human would. Either that or miracle day is just one huge plot to make Jack mortal and kill him.

Or it's an alternative dimension. I like the idea of this. It is the dimension where torchwood collided with CSI.

I'm split between "Jack made himself mortal" and "Suzie's back". I don't know yet. It could also be someone experimenting on Jack and he escaped or something like that. Because we don't know yet what he was up to the last two years. Maybe those experiments were the trigger. Or ... I don't know. I don't know enough yet. I'm at the moment more interested in who sent that damn e-mail.

NUMBER SIX IS BOTH HILARIOUS AND DISGUSTING.

I'd love for Suzie to be back, but clearly this is just an excuse to have Jack take off as many layers of clothing as possible to show off the newly-chiseled American-TV bod. He's going to bruise a hip next.
