Everyone is seeing GDL today! Well, saw. Verbs. Whatever.

Instead, I saw the Warehouse 13 episode with him in it! This is not at all the same thing, but I already met him and he told me to get sleep and wrote "what the fuck" on my picture, so I will keep my jealous heart in check.

So. Warehouse 13, you guys. This show is absolutely ridiculous and I kind of love it to pieces. Because...they went to my state in an episode! And also they have Claudia! And H.G.! And Sylvia Plath's typewriter! And other awesome artifacts. I think I'm also so in love with it because my father used to be an antique dealer, and it reminds me of going to all the antique stores when I was a little girl, only slightly more dangerous and lots more magical.

And Jinks! I like him lots so far.

But I forgot that I started watching because of GDL, so when I finally got to that episode and he appeared, I kind of got really confused-excited for a second. Or, a scene. And, come on, 1893? In London? Working for a secret organization dealing in "weird artifacts?" My head is doing many crossover dances. Many. It's dizzy with them. FF.net does NOT have as many TW/W13 crossovers as it should.

Okay, almost time for MD. Not as excited, but it's almost over. And Doctor Who tomorrow after my 4-hour Driver's Retraining course (I hate you, DMV)! And a long weekend during which I can sleep forever!

Hope everyone is having The Best Time at Dragon*Con! ♥

(Side note: Is there any Kill Bill-style Torchwood fic? I would like to see Gwen going after Jack and the team+others. Seriously. It'd be hot. I'm just too damned lazy to write it.)

re the side note: have you tried reel_torchwood, someone may have done it there... another comm is Tw_ficsearch (I think that's what it's called)

and I'm starting to get interested in Warehouse 13... it's just not on my accessible TV as far as I can see, sadly

I will, eventually. :) Thanks!

And boo to it not being on your TV :( That's a shame! I hope it appears soon!

*clears throat and settles down*

Once upon a time (by which I mean a little less than a year ago), a woman hopped in her car and drove 14 hours non-stop to Chicago, where she met some famous Welsh people (amongst others)....

Basically, I went to Chicago Tardis last year and met both Kai Owen and GDL and they were lovely people. During his autograph session, I explained my ridiculous drive to Kai and, exhausted and not thinking straight, demanded a poem. So he writes, on the picture away from his autograph, "Mary Rose sat on a pin. Mary Rose." I laughed.

Then there was GDL's autograph session. By this time I had been up for, oh, almost 40 hours straight (and thus had no filter)? And I said something like, "Kai wrote me a poem. You should write me a poem, too." He thought I wrote him a poem at first, and looked enthusiastic, until his wife and I laughed at him. In any case, he reads out Kai's "poem" and then looks at me seriously and says, "Was he drunk?" He then proceeded to write "What the fuck" on my picture, and drew an arrow to the poem.

So I hung it in my cubicle at work.

And everyone lived happily ever after, the end. ;)

I love W13. I recently started to watch it after seeing some trailers on a convention. It fascinates me because it has these old antiques being special and I LOVE it when everyday things are special artifacts.

Heh. I had considered going to the event in Chicago, but decided not to in the end. I am glad you had some weird fun!

Yes! And I love the format in which it's done. I like being on the edge of my seat, but I also like shows during which I really don't have to worry about people all the time. It's like...Torchwood Light!

Right. Sometimes it's a bit boring when a character is in danger from the first minute on and you know nothing's going to happen to them in the end. But I like that safety, too. And sometimes, I like just not knowing if a character's going to make it. :)

I've thought of writing a Torchwood fic based on "Kill Bill" with Jack in the Bride role. Of course, I'm also too lazy to write it. ;)

I THINK YOUR GDL STORY STILL WINS. :)

And the Warehouse 13/Torchwood stories need to happen. Because clearly both teams would meet up over an artifact and argue about them forever and then Jack and HG would flirt and it would be fantastic.
