I don't know why people would give you weird looks - it's not like this is a New Thing! :(
The problem with Summer SAD is that there's nothing nearly as clear-cut about it. They give a bunch of symptoms, and say that they have no idea what's legitimately behind it (unlike "normal" SAD, which is generally linked with increased production of melatonin).
It's all very strange, because it seems I'm contrary to Everyone Else. I have the "Depression/Hopelessness/Anxiety/Loss of energy/Social withdrawal/Oversleeping/Loss of interest in activities you once enjoyed/Appetite changes, especially a craving for foods high in carbohydrates/Weight gain/Difficulty concentrating and processing information" in the Spring and Summer, and the "Persistently elevated mood/Increased social activity/Hyperactivity/Unbridled enthusiasm out of proportion to the situation in Fall and Winter (which is apparently "reverse SAD" that supposedly takes place in the Summer, rather than Summer SAD, which is "Anxiety/Trouble sleeping (insomnia)/Irritability/Agitation/Weight loss/Poor appetite/Increased sex drive").
I think my brain chemistry just likes to be contrary? And I don't know why I just gave you an entire symptoms run-down! lol
