Don't think anyone actually reads THIS part. But I had an idea and I need help!
I was listening to my lovely little iPod at work today, when "Hot One" came on. I don't know if it has been released outside of the Velvet Goldmine universe, but it is wonderful. Anyhoo, the lyrics go something like this:

As I was saying...I had a lightbulb go off. Or a timey-wimey detector go *ding*, as it were. I am thinking Torchwood Goldmine. It is so wonderful, my head won't stop spinning.
If you are reading this, are you familiar with the movie? If not, you should be. :) But, seriously, I need someone with whom to bounce ideas. Or, just bounce. There HAS to be someone there. Hello?
This is going to be laborious. And I have a very tiring job as it is....But I want to do this so very badly. I keep coming up against road blocks, though.
For example, I REALLY want Brian to be Ianto, but it just doesn't fit. Brian has to be Jack.
Brian: Jack
Curt: Ianto "You could be my main man." <3
Shannon: Gwen (Oh, so bloody perfect)
Jack Fairy: The Doctor?
Devine: Also the Doctor? I am having trouble with this one.
Mandy: Okay, seriously, where the Hell do I pick Mandy? Rose? Martha? But, no. Need a very intimate relationship with Jack. Huh.
Cecil: MAY be able to cut him, but...no, he still needs to be here. Cecil...Cecil. Hmm. I'm STILL getting The Doctor. Maybe different regenerations?
Arthur: Honestly, lost here. Owen? *Giggle* Tosh? There's the whole investigative journalism, sneaky hacker, loves Brian!Jack thing that I need to do. I am also thinking Eugene (that whole...I-Want-To-Play-Too! thing happening), but Eugene likes Gwen. Still, I can see Eugene jumping up and pointing at the screen: "That's me!"
I think that's it. Other characters pop up, but Brian's entourage could easily be Torchwood 3+.
And then, there are scenes that make no sense. I mean, some can be cut, sure...like Brian!Jack wanting to meet Curt!Ianto. It makes sense the other way around. That will come after I figure out characters, though. And, do I make it follow VG 'verse, or TW 'verse? *facepalm* What am I getting myself into!?
Ideas? Thoughts? Would you even read it if I wrote it? *Sigh*
