Well then. I am awake at...4am.
Which is really 1am, but not. Huh.
To be completely honest, I don't feel confused or tired or anything. Just perplexed at timezones. In any case, both flights were fine, but SFO>JFK was much nicer, mainly because I could see outside and wasn't in some weird twilit state of consciousness. I was probably the only person on the plane who was super excited, though. I love travel methods. It's really weird. I've been transported on biplanes and helicopters and Cessnas and steam trains and modern trains and river boats and ferries and schooners and speedboats and sailboats...and I really love them all. But that's neither here nor there!
analineblue is really lovely and wonderful, and also has lovely and wonderful cats and a husband who is equally lovely and wonderful (and who found an article with a title that he suggested we write fic around!)
When I got there, I pretty much...went to sleep. We went to this extremely busy café the next morning for breakfast, and spent a good part of the day at the Haight, shopping. Lots of shopping. Hours of shopping. I got some cute things, and we had lunch at this little Thai place, Siam Lotus. There was also this awesome shop, Loved to Death, that sold...taxidermy stuff, and antiques, and all sorts of amazing things that fascinated us. I should've bought something, but I was worried about airport security.
Then we went to Japantown, and checked out some of the shops. Which were basically, you know, like going to the dollar store or...CVS or something, but they sold awesome things that I absolutely needed. :D We also went to h.NAOTO, which is a line of super awesome designer clothes that I would love to wear if they would fit more than my wrist.
We went to dinner there, too, at Isobune Sushi. It was pretty fantastic. Basically, like the popular conveyor belt system of sushi delivery, this restaurant has sushi boats that travel down this little river. There were some amazing plates, and I got to have Toro! Which was awesome more in theory than actuality. And we went for frozen yogurt after that. And walked back home. And promptly collapsed, because...well, we had walked a lot. (And by "promptly collapsed," I of course mean that we watched They Keep Killing Suzie.)
We got breakfast the next morning, we walked to Rose's Café for brunch and then we went to Lush, where I spent lots of money on things. And I just spent some more....*Whistles innocently* And then we went back to the apartment, and watched From Out of the Rain and then edited our
ianto_bigbang fic. We read it out loud, which was extra hilarious because I got all the porny bits and turned into a giggling 12 year old. Also hilariously, Jeremy came home halfway through and we acted like guilty children. We got some Indian takeout for...early dinner/late lunch, and then we watched three episodes of The Tudors and three episodes of No. 6. After we watched The Tudors, Jamie mentioned that a character, who was in only one episode, looked familiar. She couldn't figure out where she'd seen him before, though, so we looked him up. Yeah. He's this guy:
.
Apparently, Ianto was so pissed, that he sent this guy back in time to be sent to the Tower by Cardinal Wolsey and killed for treason. That's what the stun gun really does. It's special.
And then we went to bed, and in the morning I went to the airport, bought cliché souvenirs, and flew back home. And listened to Department X, which I really liked for the Jack/Ianto relationship bits. But the plot was odd. Not that I expected it to be...not-odd, of course. Anyway.
Interestingly, the climate of San Francisco is not much different to the current climate in Connecticut. Except that there are palm trees. Which confused me. Anyway. Everyone made this trip super easy for me, and I'm thankful for that. I'm really amused, though, that my employees picked me up from the airport on National Bosses' Day.
Now...pictures!

So. Yay! Now...time to get ready for work. Blech.
