Okay, so this post simply serves as a way for me to get my head in order. But since you are all living in my head anyway, feel free to offer input! :)

First, there's the supersekrit surprise. Rough draft written in its entirety and I can breathe for a bit. A bit. I'm just proud that I didn't stop part way through and give up.

Then, there's the possibility of a companion (HA!) piece to "Ergo Radius Solis et Umbra"  -  Ten's perspective, anyway. I was about to type that it should shed some light, but then I realized that this is Ten we're talking about. You'll probably be left feeling even MORE confused.

Was going to do the Advent Challenge, but that's just silly. It wouldn't be much different than "Use It In A Sentence," and by the end of that I was drained. Plus, Supersekrit Surprise (which I have officially decided is the Working Title) is going to require much hand-holding as it is. Aside from Advent, are there any other Christmas/Holiday challenges still open? I've yet to do any challenges and would very much like to.

Then, finally, there is the Myfanwy community. The more I think about this, the more I like the idea. Is there one already? I don't think so. I have no CLUE how to plan a community. Button, I know you're reading this. Can I steal the title of your most recent story if I do end up achieving my dreams!? :) I think it would be perfect. I'll need to outline some stuff. What am I getting myself into? Should it be a challenge, or is that too difficult? Or, not a challenge to be voted upon, with a winner, but like the TW Women thing a while back. We need to call a month as Myfanwy month, I think.

Now, then. Is that all? I hope so. I've been part of the fandom for less than two months. It's been a little over two months since I've finished watching Torchwood. Somehow, I've two chaptered fics (3, if UIiaS counts), 16 (!) one-shots, and 3 drabbles (38 if UIiaS counts here instead). How the HELL did I do that?!

And why hasn't anyone told me to stop yet!?

Why would anyone tell you to stop 0_0

Write MOAR! ;)

New blood in the fandom is to be welcomed and encouraged since quite a few writers lost their muses post-CoE. The fact that there are new writers appearing gives the fandom hope!

(I have just over 1500 words of Nosy-fic written - it is progressing at last! YAY ME!)

Because I'm nuts, perhaps??

I agree with new blood, absolutely. And I'm glad to be a fresh supply. Honestly, CoE is the reason I started writing fic. I decided that, in no uncertain terms, did the story end THERE!

I wonder what the new season will do...I think we'll be split apart by it, as a fandom, which is rather unfortunate. We'll see.

Yay you, indeed! I'm so excited that you're writing it. Yayayay! :)

There ARE people who loved CoE 0_o

There are also people who are EXCITED for The New World

I'm not one of them and I suspect bits of the fandom will flake off rather than there being a huge split, there'll be smaller fandom offshoots while the largest portion will continue as it is, ignoring CoE for the most part, or writing fix-its while paying no attention to The New World (unless they choose to somehow fix that too.) Many of us are rather set in our ways and very good at ignoring what we don't like. People predicted that CoE would destroy the fandom but it didn't, we pulled closer together and the amount of fic following CoE was astounding. There was quite a lot that that was CoE compliant, but even more that were fix-its of one sort or another, or just ignored CoE altogether. So I'm hopeful. I won't bother to read anything set in the New World unless someone re-writes the series with Ianto! There's more than enough for me to read as it is and since I'm not a Gwen fan, it's not worth my time.

thebuttonontop is possibly going to try drawing Nosy - I am squeeing with excitement!

This is true, and I liked it for what it was trying to do. I dislike it for what it did. Does that make any sense? And it was too soon after Owen and Tosh, I think. If there was another season in between, I MAY have been more suited to handle it.

It will just seem very weird to be hearing about "canon" characters that will most likely mean nothing to me. Which is a shame.

Oh, I'm squeeing too! YAY NOSY! :)

I hated CoE, to be honest, not just for killing Ianto but for completely destroying everything that I felt represented the Torchwood I loved - the Hub, the weevils, Myfanwy, the rift, the SUV, there was just nothing left for me in the end. I don't like political dramas anyway, too much talking and posturing and... well, politics. Also didn't like the way much of the plot made no sense and the characters were OOC and the plotholes were massive! That's just my opinion of course. So much potential wiped out for the sake of spectacle. So I'm ignoring The New World, the new characters don't interest me from what I've heard.

I'm crossing my fingers and toes for Nosy art! That would just make my YEAR!

i didn't hate CoE... i liked the story and the gritty-ness. i agree with everything else that you said though. the new show may as well be a different thing. it just isn't Torchwood.

and seriously... Rex Matheison?? i can't even hear that name without giggling.

and yes, I Nosy art will be forthcoming. :) sounds ADORABLE!!! :)
