I was thinking thoughts last night. This is dangerous. There are two things that kept nagging at me:

1) When Jack gets stuck in 1941 with Tosh, are there three Jacks (er, four, if you count the real one) in the world at that time? I don't know the year Jack met the Doctor...but it had been implied that he was there right after the real Jack dies. So let's say he gets there a day or two before, lays low, and then adopts the name after he dies....There are at least two Jacks, because he was there in 1941 after getting stuck in the 19th century. But there may be three. That is...a lot.

2) Everyone in this episode has some sort of affair (if only brief) with both men and women. Gwen makes out with Carys, but has Rhys. Owen allows himself to be kissed by that guy after he tries to pick up his girlfriend (damn alien pheromones) but obviously has numerous straight pairings, including Diane. Tosh has Mary and Tommy. Ianto has Lisa and Jack. But for all of his talk of "labels" and "categories," who has Jack had any sort of on-screen "relationship" with? Ianto, real!Jack, and John. Those are the only people Jack has kissed that we've seen, right? And it wasn't really implied that he was off kissing other people throughout the show's timeline. Yes, I know. Estelle, Lucia, etc. But we haven't seen that, and it's all in the past. So NOW who's putting himself in a neat little box? I think he's all talk. And maybe that means that things don't really get better; maybe they even get worse. This is inspiring fic, and that is also dangerous.
