Stolen from [livejournal.com profile] analineblue ...because I am a thief of things!

I write like
Douglas Adams

I Write Like by Mémoires, journal software. Analyze your writing!

Okay, the above was with [livejournal.com profile] xrai_namere 's x-mas present, "After A Fall Such As This...." And I think I only got this result because I waxed poetic about "Hitchhikers" for like, 40000 paragraphs, or something.

So I tried another.

I write like
Chuck Palahniuk

I Write Like by Mémoires, journal software. Analyze your writing!

This was done using "Shards." Yep. I can see that, as the central theme is "OMG DARKNESS AND BROKEN MUGS."

But one more for good measure? Something fluffy.

I write like
Margaret Atwood

I Write Like by Mémoires, journal software. Analyze your writing!

This was from Interlude, my most recent post. ZOMG MARGARET ATWOOD. And now I am thinking, "Remember when I did that thing where I took her poems? And I did fic-y things to them? Yes?" So I tried it (Variations) and I got...Chuck Palahniuk again. Oh. Well. Huh.

Which is better than when I analyzed my original writings. I kept being told I wrote like Dan Brown. And James Joyce. Which is an odd mix (like THIS is any better...).

Yeah, I don't know how they get this stuff, but I think it's just a random selection. I tested it.

Wouldn't even want to hazard a guess as to who I write like - it'd probably be some god-awful third rate harlequin sleazey fiction author that I used to have stocked upon my shelves back in the distant past *is ashamed*

Wot's-her-name from the Romancing the Stone and Jewel of the Nile movies - Joan Winters or something like that, LOL!

Can I ask what you smoke or drink first thing in the morning? Because since when did Shakespeare write smut? Of the magnitude that I write smut?

Or crack!fic like the Christmas tree/candy cane crack?

I'm pretty sure he'd be rolling in his exalted grave if he knew, LOL.

Now, where do I found out and what the hell do I do, cuz now I'm bloody curious!

Cigarettes and coffee. That's all, I promise! :-D

Just click the "Analyze Your Writing" in the bottom of the banner.

And it just does syntax and things, not actual word choices and grammar and whatnot. I don't think it knows what it's about (in terms of actual words...if that makes sense).

I wanna know now! lol :)

You better put your coffee cup and ciggy down. I don't want you getting hurt! I'm just checking the post now, making sure it all makes sense before I edit it for friends, but holy fuck, batman!

Yeah, I can't decide if those results are just random, or what, but... It's kind of fun all the same? ;)

I did it again after I posted and got Gertrude Stein with one of my older fics. WTF. :P But it's weird, when I paste in my newer stuff, I keep getting Palahniuk! >_> So who knows. >_>
