Title: Ties the Bind
Author:
sariagray
Characters/Pairings: Ianto/Jack, Ten
Rating: G
Word Count: 202
Spoilers: The whole series.
Warnings: CoE compliant, but not outright mentioned.
Disclaimer: I do not own Torchwood, its characters, or anything else with which it may be involved.
Author’s Note: Autumn nights are making me melancholy and nostalgic and romantic. I apologize in advance. This just wouldn't leave me alone, and I was desperately trying to get to sleep! Also, I should probably have my iTunes revoked. Immediately.
I'm aware what the rules are
But you know that I will run
You know that I will follow you
Over Silbury Hill
Through the solar field
You know that I will follow you
“1000 Oceans” Tori Amos
Full song can be heard here.
“Doc….Please.”
“Jack, you know perfectly well…” the Doctor began, then paused and looked into the man’s desperate eyes. He gave a dramatic sigh and relented. “Fine. Once. For ten minutes. That’s it.”
He knew exactly where to go; it was all he could do to keep from sprinting.
Choking back a sob at the welcome sight, he wrapped his arms around the living body from behind. The gesture was met with a gasp.
“Jack, you’re -.” The man turned in the embrace, only to be silenced by a finger pressed to his lips.
“I love you, too,” Jack whispered, blinking back tears. He rubbed his thumb across a prominent cheekbone before lips met with a tender urgency that shocked them both.
When he finally pulled away, Jack was surprised to feel soft, cool silk pressed insistently into his hand. Their eyes met; an eternity passed while mountains were carved beneath the persistent flow of one thousand oceans.
Ianto awoke the next morning in Jack’s cot, fully clothed and clutching at a pillow damp with tears. He thought he had dreamed the encounter before realizing with a start that the tie he had been wearing was nowhere to be found.
