Best trick? Stop thinking about it. Go do something brain neutral: wash dishes, fold laundry, go take a shower. Whatever. Let the story work itself out in the back of your brain and then hit it hard again later.
I did do the shower thing, yes. And it helped. I think it's the whole deadline issue that's messing with me. Oh, the pressure! I just keep reminding myself that it's not the end of the world. Or at least, I keep trying to remind myself. :) Thanks!
