Just to update you all, since I know you're DYING to hear what's been going on in my life.

1. The theater company for whom I've been dramaturging (is that even a word?) has its opening night of Richard III on Thursday. I received a frantic email yesterday from an actor and costume designer about late-medieval military wear. Luckily, I believe that the crisis has been averted by my ninja-researching skills. Or my layman's ability to play connect-the-dots, but whatever. I will continue to pretend that I am a Research Superhero. I can't wait to see the final production!

2. We are STILL waiting to hear about the re-org at work. It's been a month and almost everyone knows where they're going. Except my group. I'm also trying to get involved in staff development. Apparently, we get free classes at Cornell and also through AMA and...some other places I don't remember. And they will pay my transportation into the city, too! Or I can take online courses, which is more to my liking right now. Having a "real" job is a bit...terrifying, even if I do have less responsibility and clout than I did as a temp.

3. analineblue and I are almost 14k into our rough draft. O.O

4. I can't handle plot. I do NOT know what to do with it. Also, there's not much one can do in approximately one thousand words, and whenever I go over that, I usually start to panic. So how did a whole plotty piece of over 5000 words end up in this Word document? Don't ask me; I was clearly possessed by a demon. And now would like a good editing demon to come and take over my body. Thank you.

5. I think I'm just going to abandon ship and go back to poetry.

6. There was a thunderstorm happening. It is no longer happening. I'm a bit sad, as it's the only part of summer that I enjoy. Can it be autumn and winter forever, please?
