8:54 p.m. - The National Weather Service says conditions are ripe for tornadoes in New York City, Long Island and southern Connecticut because of Hurricane Irene.

Great. A hurricanado. Just what I need. I'm going to go dance in it, okay?

In OTHER news:

I need big hair for this. And when I said "dance in it," I obviously meant...writhe on top of a sports car.

Hahaha - good song choice! And I really want to see you with the big hair and on the car. Oh - I don't recommend dancing in the hurricane unless it's during the eye. Just saying. Yes, personal experience!

It's pretty soggy here, although not too windy where we are, not at the moment anyway. Might pick up a little, probably just really gusty stuff, nothing sustained, not this far inland. On the coast though? Bit of a different story. This storm is dropping a fair bit of rain, I'll grant it that.

Hurricanado - I like that word! You are brilliant with language! Wish I had your skill with words.

! I'm glad you're okay! I was just coming on to check, actually, and send you a message if you hadn't posted. *hugs* I know VA was getting slammed earlier. Pounded, I think the news was saying. Do you feel...pounded? *Raises eyebrow*

It's really windy here already, constantly, and we still have a tornado watch. 75k are already without power, too. I am clinging to my power and internet like a mad thing. And I'd better go make coffee now, while I still can, huh?

I will try to refrain from dancing until the eye approaches! ;) And ♥ Thank you! I am blushing at your praise! In the midst...of a hurricane!

Keep staying safe! ♥

It's nice and dry here now. I think the sun is even trying to shine. But yeah, it rained for almost 18 hours straight, I think. It said heavy rain, but it wasn't torrential, just steady. Still, I would say we received here in Falls Church at least three or four inches of rain. A lot more the closer to the coast you travel. Flooding was an issue in a lot of places. Small branches were down as I was driving about last night (I didn't let it stop me from going out!) but nothing major, not here. It wasn't even windy by my standards, not like it could be growing up in Wellington on a daily basis!

Right now, as I type this, you are probably sitting through some fairly significant rain and wind. I know Irene is now a Tropical Storm, but sometimes those cause more damage, not sure why. I think they dump more rain, somehow. I hope you still have power. We didn't lose power for more than a second or two - our complex has backup generators, I think, so we're usually good. I know that tree branches and such are still a threat up north, so I have my fingers and toes crossed for you.

I wanted to laugh out loud (but the family thinks I'm mad enough, so I refrained) when I read your comment about VA being pounded! I'm pretty sure part of it was, but not us. *is sad* I never get to join in the fun. *pouts*
