(Not really that major.) Having reached a perfect stopping point with our [livejournal.com profile] ianto_bigbang (it's been beta'd, tidied, and submitted to the mods with a summary for their esteemed checking!), we...well, we stopped. Which is, I suppose, what one does when a stopping point is reached. ;)

That said, we've a little over a month before posting dates are announced and we each have to give this thing a final tweaking (see also: firm beating into submission) and figure out posting.

Posting poses a rather unique issue, as those of you who've co-written fic before probably know. Where does the fic itself live? Who gets the "credit"? (Obviously, all the writers do, but you know what I mean).

[livejournal.com profile] analineblue and I have done this before, as you've seen, and we've happily traded off hosting responsibility. But this Big Bang? It's...well, it's big. And it bangs. So I'm told, at any rate. And I feel as though so much of our time and effort has gone into it. It deserves to live in a palace. Okay, no, but a nice little house, maybe.

Having already written and posted two other collaborative works, and (vaguely) planning to work on more together, we decided that we should make our own fic comm! (Of course we did). This is not a new idea in this fandom, but it's new to us (and therefore extremely shiny and exciting, as far as we're concerned - you guys, CSS is an alien language, but I'm getting better at it!)!

Back in the day (in the midst of working on our first fic together, I think), I joked that our names each had colors, and we tended to write a lot about rain (and men with eyes that seemed to match said colors, and a greatcoat, too!), and it all seemed like fate.

So without further ado, I introduce [livejournal.com profile] bluegray_fic, which will be the host community for all of our joint efforts (of which I personally hope there will be many!).

This will not change much of anything. All of our individual fics will continue to be posted to our journals, and we will be posting everything we write together to the appropriate TW comms. But you are more than welcome to watch us! We like being watched!

Also, we may do a bit of a fic rec thing now and again, so keep an eye out. Who knows what we'll get up to!

Finally, I know we had a poll, and the vote was massively in favor of "An Alien's Aria," but after much discussion (by which I mean panicking) and the fact that it's been raining all week (I take it as a sign from...uh...the weather), we went with "À La Anise Rain."

So...yay? :D C'mon. Click the button. You know you want to!

I LOVE THE COMM NAME. AWESOME COMBINATION OF YOUR AND ANALINE'S NAME, AND ALSO SO TORCHWOOD. GIVE ME A MOMENT WHILE I SQUEE AT THE AWESOMENESS OF IT.

/MOMENT/

AND YOU WENT WITH "RAIN". XD

I THINK THIS IS THE SIGN OF AN AUSPICIOUS START. GOOD LUCK TO THE BOTH OF YOU.

*goes to watch comm*

Your excitement is making me excited! All over again! :D :D :D

We DID go with rain! I was going to do "As alien a rain" but that made [livejournal.com profile] analineblue want to finish the sentence with strange things. So we went with this because...it was Mysterious! And rain! Mystery Rain! :D

<3 Thank you!

*Is watching!*

CSS is the flippin' devil, but it gets easier once you get used to working with it. I am definitely looking forward to what you and Analine post :)

CSS is totally fun, in an aggravating, ridiculous sort of way. :-/ I think I was overwhelmed, because there was SO MUCH I wanted to change! But taking it one step at a time, I've been able to get it to do what I want. With a lot of trial and error! It reminds me a bit of writing sql programs at work. Not that I know how to do that, but I've seen it done enough! lol

(We are totally looking forward to what we post too! :D Who knows? Thanks for watching us! :D <3)
