It's been a while since I posted one of these, partially because my mother and I haven't had lengthy and amusing conversations in a great many months. But. Well. Here we are.

Mom: Torchwood Central. When's your gynecologist appointment? I need you to ask something for me.
Me: Uh. These two things together...let's not do that again, okay?
Mom: Maybe it's an alien gynecologist?

Me: Yeah, so the dentist was really nice, and the appointment was free, so it was fine.
Mom: Well, I remember when I was in Dr. Hoos' office, there was this dental assistant -
Me: Wait. What? Where were you?
Mom: Dr. Hoos' office.
Me: Well, that's unexpected.
Mom: H-O-O-S.
Me: Ahhh.
Mom: Actually, he cleaned my teeth with a sonic screwdriver.

Mom: I'm a one man kind of woman.
Me: I used to think that about myself. And then I watched Torchwood.
Mom: Oh god, now I really can't ever watch it.
Me: It made me re-evaluate how I felt about everything, really. I am a new woman who wants different things from life!
Mom: No, you can't have a pterodactyl.
